Amy has been in love with horses for a very long time. From the first ride on Uncle Albert's pony, Smokey Joe, she was hooked. At nine, Santa Claus brought her a beautiful sorrel mare she named Cinnamon.  Amy learned all the basics of riding in her local 4-H group, showing and riding in parades.  When in High School, Amy gave lessons to the neighborhood kids so they could share in her love of horses.

Later when in college, she volunteered at a therapeutic riding center in Kansas. Little did she know that working with horses and children with special needs would steer her college educational choices later in life. After getting married and having two kids, Amy volunteered again for a therapeutic riding center in Missouri and then completed the program to become a NARHA Certified Registered Instructor.  With her backgrounds in Speech and Language, Elementary Education, and horses, Amy brings much experience and joy to Sugar Creek Equinapy!
